Pawtucket, R.I., ca. 1910, unusual Chase Mammy character doll, black hand-painted cloth head with painted molded features, black caracul wig wearing red bandana, sateen body with painted lower arms and legs. Dressed in original red cotton printed dress with white muslin apron and scarf, matching red and white printed underwear with sewn in pocket, and black leather shoes. This is an outstanding example with wonderful vibrant painted facial features.
